Our Creation
Illian Crafts and Design, Inc. was formed in 2004 with inspiration and a bit of luck! We are a private corporation that was derived from a simple idea. Back in December of 2003, Jackie and Jon Illian (our founders and current CEO and CFO), had the idea to create new staff shirts for Central Lutheran School (CLS) in St. Paul, MN. We created a sample shirt using Jackie’s small home embroidery machine and she took it to school to see what the response would be. To our great surprise, the demand was so high for spiritwear at CLS, we could barely keep up with the orders. At that point, Illian Crafts and Design, Inc. was born. It was at this same time that we chose to upgrade our embroidery machinery and computer systems to state-of-the-art Melco Amaya brand industrial machinery. This helped us keep pace with new demand.
Our Business Model
We developed our business model on a simple concept. We service schools mainly in the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod (the "LC-MS"), but we also provide custom embroidery and screen printing to other groups and organizations. We base our prices on a model that allows all schools and churches, both large and small, access to reasonably priced garments, spiritwear and uniforms. We do not require a minimum order size on our embroidered products and we keep our overhead low, which allows our customers easy access to all that we offer. Our Partnership With L.E.A.
We rely mainly on word of mouth but we also generate business as a result of our sponsorship of the National conference of the Lutheran Education Association (L.E.A.). Illian Crafts and Design, Inc. was able to make contacts in almost all 50 states through this partnership with L.E.A. In addition, we continue to work with the L.E.A. as their exclusive supplier of garments through their online store. The Final Word...
We have built our business on service. Our word is our bond. Our values are based on the Christian ethics and values and we strive to show this in the way that we do business with you. We want to help build a relationship with you, not as a one time customer, but a customer for life!
